The metal we use is jeweler’s metal overlaid with either 2.5 to 3.0 microns of rhodium (silver colored) or 2.5 to 3.0 microns of gold plate. If the item number has an SS on the end then it is sterling silver.

Rhodium is one of three metals from the platinum group (PGM) used for jewelry. It is the most expensive metal of this group and is the best in resistance to corrosion and tarnish under most environmental conditions. It is durable, hard and highly reflective.
Rhodium is also hypoallergenic. Rhodium protective coating is useful for sterling silver and
white gold which often contains nickel to give it a while sheen look. It is well known that nickel is not biocompatible and approximately 15% of people suffer from some kind of allergies to nickel. Thus rhodium serves as an additional layer between skin and base metal preventing skin from irritation.
Fashion jewelry should be worn for special occasions. Fashion jewelry is the last thing that you put on before you leave the house and the first thing that you take off when you come home.
Your jewelry will then last a very long time and it will always look nice.
Caring for rhodium and gold plated jewelry:
Keep your jewelry clean with a mixture of mild detergent and a little water.
You can also use any jewelry cleaner that does not have any acids, ammonia or abrasives. Rinse it well and dry. You can also clean it with a polishing cloth.
Do not clean your rhodium plated jewelry in chemicals cleaners such as jewelry dips. Some sonic jewelry cleaners also use chemicals. It can wear the rhodium plating off more quickly. Avoid rubbing your jewelry against surfaces. If you’re going to be doing a lot of work with your hands, you’ll want to remove your rings during that time. This goes for when you’re doing tasks such as heavy cleaning and yard work.
